Does FlexSchool offer recess and outdoor time for students?
Both physical campuses in NY and NJ have inviting outdoor areas where we eat, play, and socialize. Teachers are well-attuned to student needs and will often host activities and breaks that allow students to enjoy the fresh air and get in some movement. Students may also request that a faculty member accompany them on a break if they would like to spend a few minutes outdoors throughout the day.
FlexSchool does not host formal recess but rather incorporates breaks and the ability to move throughout the academic day. Additionally, lunch is a 45-minute period so that students have the time to eat, decompress, and socialize. Students often take advantage of this time outdoors in the warmer months and participate in games of basketball, gaga, and more when they are finished eating.
